Telehealth

Definition

Telehealth is the delivery of clinical care via secure video, phone, or messaging. In mental health, telehealth most often means scheduled video sessions on a HIPAA-secure platform. Research supports telehealth efficacy for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and most common presentations.

Clinical Context

Telehealth expanded rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic and has remained the dominant format for many practices. Licensure rules require the clinician to be licensed in the state where the client is physically located at the time of the session.

How This Shows Up in Our Work

Our practice is virtual telehealth across New York State. Sessions use a HIPAA-secure video platform. You must be physically located in New York at the time of the session. Telehealth offers geographic flexibility, no commute, and easier scheduling around real life.
